Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about our equipment, installation, maintenance, and services.

Does hydraulic fluid come with the lifts?

No. Due to DOT regulations and insurance laws regarding the transport of hazardous materials, hydraulic fluid must be supplied by the end-user.

Recommended Fluid Specifications:

Our lifts are designed to operate using standard 10-weight, non-foaming, non-detergent hydraulic oil (AW-32 or AW-46) or Dexron-III ATF fluid. These are readily available at most automotive or industrial supply stores.

Do I need a special floor or foundation for my lift?

Most residential or commercial foundations are sufficient, but concrete integrity is critical for safety.

Concrete Requirements:

  • • Concrete must be at least 5.9" (150 MM) thick
  • • Minimum 3000 PSI rating
  • • Do not install on asphalt or cracked/defective concrete
  • • If you have a post-tension slab, consult an architect before drilling

The customer is responsible for verifying concrete strength before installation.

What is the recommended drill-bit size for installation?

We recommend a 19mm drill bit, though this may vary slightly based on your specific shop foundation or facility application.

Always consult the installation manual included with your equipment for precise specifications.

How much ceiling height do I need?

Required ceiling height varies by lift model and the height of the vehicles you intend to service. Please refer to the specific Product Dimensions on each product page for exact clearance requirements.

How do I know if my vehicle is too heavy for a specific lift?

Total weight is only part of the equation; you must also consider Arm Capacity.

Example:

A 10,000 lb. lift has four arms rated at 2,500 lbs. each. If a truck has a heavy rear-end (6,000 lbs. over the rear axle), each rear arm would be carrying 3,000 lbs., exceeding the 2,500 lb. limit.

Rule of Thumb:

We recommend never exceeding 75% of a lift's rated capacity to maintain a professional safety margin.

What electrical setup do I need?

Voltage

Most models run on standard 220V, but other options may be available upon request.

Breaker

We recommend a dedicated 30-amp circuit breaker for your equipment.

Why are my lift arms "bouncing" during operation?

This is typically caused by air trapped in the hydraulic lines.

How to Fix:

  1. Raise the lift to the first lock
  2. Crack the bleeder screws at the top of the cylinders until fluid starts to leak out
  3. Tighten the screws immediately
